This symposium is an expanded version of the Cambridge-Sultan Qaboos University Workshop that was held in 2011 and 2016. It is designed to bring together researchers interested in the different areas of mathematical modelling to present and discuss new advances in the ideas, techniques and outlook for further developments. The main emphasis will be on:

• Non-Fourier fluids particularly with applications to nano-fluid dynamics
• Mathematical Biology including deterministic epidemiology
• Industrial mathematics
• Fluid dynamics
• Numerical techniques
