مقدمة :

يأتي المؤتمر الدولي التاسع لكلية التربية بجامعة السلطان قابوس لتسليط الضوء على أهمية طرح رؤى معاصرة، ومستقبلية لدور علم النفس في الظروف العادية والاستثنائية. لقد تسببت الأحداث المعاصرة وما شهدناه من كوارث طبيعية كالزلازل، وكوارث من صنع البشر كالحروب والصراعات الداخلية والدولية، وانتشار الأوبئة، والأزمات الاقتصادية في نشر الخوف بين الناس في مختلف أنحاء العالم؛ حيث تطرقت الدراسات والبحوث إلى  الآثار السلبية لمثل تلك الأحداث التي عصفت بالبشرية ومنها على سبيل المثال: انتشار الخوف، والقلق، والضيق العاطفي، وأعراض الإجهاد وضغوط ما بعد الصدمة، واضطرابات النوم، والوسواس القهري المرتبط باحتمالية الإصابة بالأمراض المعدية المؤدية إلى الموت. وتتنوع استجابات الأفراد لمواجهة الخبرات والآثار السلبية لتلك الأحداث من خلال استخدام آليات  دفاعية يطورونها  لحماية أنفسهم  من هذه الآثار  السلبية والمواقف المؤلمة.

وعطفًا على ما سبق، يسعى هذا المؤتمر إلى  أن يكون تظاهرة علمية لتبادل الخبرات، والمعارف، والسياسات، والتجارب العربية والدولية التي تُظهر دور علم النفس وأهميته في حياة المجتمعات الإنسانية خلال الظروف العادية والاستثنائية.  

Introduction

The College of Education’s 9th International Conference, to be held at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), aims to highlight the importance of psychology in presenting contemporary and future visions during ordinary times and times of crisis. Recent events, including natural disasters such as earthquakes and man-made crises such as wars, internal and international conflicts, as well as the spread of epidemics and economic downturns, have instilled widespread fear among individuals worldwide. Studies have documented the adverse psychological effects of such occurrences, including, for example, the spread of fear, anxiety, emotional distress, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, sleep disorders, and preoccupation with contracting infectious and potentially fatal diseases.
In response to such stressful experiences, individuals cope with these events in different ways, including the use of self-constructed defense mechanisms to protect themselves from the negative effects of distressing situations. This conference aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences, knowledge, policies, and practical applications that underscore the role of psychology for individuals and societies, both in ordinary and crisis situations.
