About the Symposium
The Council of Arab Ministers for Communications and Information selected Muscat to be the Arab Digital Capital for 2022. The decision reflects the confidence of Arab countries in the digital and legal capabilities of Oman.
Our Symposium is listed under the activities of Muscat Arab Digital Capital 2022. Indeed, education holds the key to achieving the primary goals of the sultanate’s Vision 2040, the country’s long-term economic development plan. Innovation and digitalization will play a huge role in achieving the objectives of Oman’s Vision 2040.
A key objective of the strategy is to support the development of a competitive economy.
The ISAFOSS-TIEDE2022 Virtual Symposium will be jointly organized by the Communication and Information Research Center at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), on the adoption of free and open source software (FOSS) for intelligent educational systems and digital economy.
