This theme focuses on the status quo of the social welfare policies and programs in the Sultanate of Oman, the key challenges they face, the proposed measures for their improvement. In addition, to the efforts made to achieve the social welfare goals  that are included in Oman Vision 2040.

Arab and International Experiences in Social Welfare Policies and Programs: Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

This theme focuses on studies and research that examine and evaluate practical experiences in social welfare policies and programs at the regional and international levels. It explores their role in addressing social issues in various social, educational, and healthcare sectors, such as: poverty, provision of decent standard of living, inclusivity and equity in distribution of services to all members of society (to guarantee an acceptable quality of life), generation of appropriate employment opportunities, improvement of income levels, and enhancement of the efficiency of beneficiaries through experiences, skills, training, and education. Furthermore, this theme covers studies and research on the contribution of these policies and programs to achieving sustainable development goals and identifying factors that could affect their success.

Studies on Social Justice and Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

This theme focuses on studies and research examining topics and issues, which are relevant to social justice and, consequently, sustainable development. Such topics may include poverty, hunger, health, education, and gender equality. It also focuses on reducing inequality and social exclusion, as well as the role of social justice in achieving sustainable development goals in different societies.

Environmental Studies and the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

This theme concentrates on studies and research on the social responsibility of individuals, institutions, and companies in protecting and preserving the environment. It also concentrates on the assessment of environmental impacts of human activities and defining effective mechanisms for achieving sustainable development. In addition, it evaluates the impacts of government policies and regulatory measures and climate change on the environment and society, analyzes the environmental impacts of traditional and modern investment projects , assesses the available environmental policy analyses, improves natural resource management, reduces environmental pollution, examines natural environmental disasters and their socioeconomic and psychological effects on populations and explores the role of social welfare programs and policies in dealing with them.

Envisioning the Future of Social Welfare Policies and Programs in Light of the Current and Future Global Changes

This theme sheds light on studies related to future perspectives of international social work studies and proposals for developing social welfare policies and programs that align with current and future global changes. It also involves the analysis and evaluation of current social policies, identification of best practices and successful experiences in the field of social welfare at all levels, as well as the needs of social groups that are most affected by contemporary global changes. It sheds light on the forward-looking studies in order to ensure the inclusion of all affected groups, such as women, children, the elderly, refugees, internally displaced people, homeless, and others, who are affected by natural disasters, epidemics, international conflicts, and wars.
