Mustafa Riad is Professor Emeritus in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. A seasoned translator and editor, his work has been published in Cairo, Riyadh, and Kuwait. His academic pursuits delve into comparative literature and translation studies, with a focus on biocentrism and the ethical implications of translation in the Anthropocene age. He is co-editor of Encounters in Translation/Rencontres en traduction (Prairie, Pôle éditorial, Lyon, Saint-Étienne). He has lectured extensively in Cairo, Beirut, Abha, and Delhi, sharing his expertise and insights. Most recently, he co-presented a performative lecture at COP 28 in Dubai, titled "Translating Sustainability: Advocating Eco-Friendly Creativity against the Anthropocene."
